Program Coordinator, School of Nursing and Health Studies - Georgetown University Medical Center

Georgetown's School of Nursing and Health Studies offers the online Master of Science degree in Nursing program and the online BSN to Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program from Georgetown University School of Nursing & Health Studies. Through a unique blend of highly interactive online class sessions, collaborative coursework, and real-world clinical experiences, Nursing@Georgetown prepares the next generation of nursing leaders with the skills and knowledge they need to advance their nursing careers.

The Program Coordinator handles administrative management of all aspects of the assigned program in the Department of Advanced Nursing Practice. S/he supports all academic, administrative, and regulatory functions and programs, using skilled communication, organization, data management, and collaboration; and gains and cultivates knowledge of all aspects of the department's programs and operations. Reporting to the Department Chair, the Program Coordinator has duties that include but are not limited to:

Program Management/Administration

  • Implements the day­ to-day operations that support all aspects of the department and programs.
  • Adheres to all University, school, and department policies and procedures.
  • Administers and manages Typhon account and provide preceptors with timely communication and end of rotation hour verification documentation.
  • Prepares, maintains, and distributes student  and faculty  manuals/handbooks.
  • Assists faculty with reimbursements and ProCard reconciliations.
  • Work with 2U to ensure they have all new CFA information and that students are assigned their CFAs in SalesForce.
  • Works with Program Faculty and Academic Affairs to identify term by term course schedules.
  • Manages and prioritizes multiple initiatives, such as tracking all OCI expenses, managing student data, and administering contract management.

Data Management

  • Manages database entry, and maintenance and reports current information on all students, preceptors and sites using internal and external databases/web systems housing student information (such as Certified Background, Typhon, Salesforce, Cognos, Banner, MyAccess, Google Drive, and Box).
  • Manages evaluations tabulation and analysis of evaluations of students, site evaluations, preceptor evaluations, and self-evaluations; and generates end of semester reports downloaded from Typhon.

Academic, Operational, and Regulatory Management

  • Works with professional organizations to oversee student licensing requirements.
  • Maintains electronic student administrative files.
  • Provides support to faculty and staff in coordinating and completing Accreditation process.
  • Manages administrative tasks for department as needed - such as, Track faculty CVs, licensures, and workloads).
  • Assists faculty with travel arrangements and conference registrations, and supports faculty with IT needs, photocopying, and different vendor websites.
  • Assists with all department and program initiatives and activities, such as On Campus Intensives, graduation, accreditation).
  • Serves as a resource for all faculty, assisting with new hire documentation and onboarding processes, and connecting them with appropriate resources as needed.
  • Supports program team meetings by scheduling meetings, room, and making available minutes for all program meetings.
  • Participates in strategic planning initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 to 5 years of office/administrative experience- preferably in an academic or non-profit environment
  • Slightly organized with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to work to completion by deadlines
  • Ability to use flexibility and creativity in solving problems and achieving office goals
  • Proficiency in use of the computer - Access, Excel and Word
  • Detail-orientation and interpersonal excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with faculty and students, as well as independently
  • Positive, professional, and customer service-orientation
