The George Mason University Law Library, located on the universitys Arlington campus, seeks an hourly, part-time Library Circulation Assistant. Responsibilities: The Circulation Assistant staffs the circulation desk (20 hours weekly), and is responsible for opening the library at 8:00 a.m. weekday mornings. Some weekend hours will also be required. Duties include checking items out to patrons; answering directional and ready reference questions; and assisting with collection maintenance, book shifting, and other projects and duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an academic or law library, or the equivalent;
  • Bachelor’s degree, or a combination of education and experience;
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills;
  • Ability to utilize online catalog;
  • Ability to work as part of a team;
  • Public or customer service experience; and
  • Ability to shelve books accurately and assist with collection maintenance. Preferred Qualifications:
  • Flexibility to work evenings or additional hours as needed.
