Reporting and Web Services Analyst - Office of the Registrar

Georgetown's Office of the University Registrar (OUR) is dedicated primarily to the service of faculty and students through scheduling, registration, record keeping and reporting as well as assisting the deans and other administrative offices in their service. It seeks to demonstrate through action a commitment to building a sense of community.

The Reporting and Web Services Analyst provides support to the daily administration of the systems team; participates in strategic planning and the direction of technology implementation; and assists in user acceptance testing, business process development and reporting for the Office of the University Registrar. Reporting to the Deputy University Registrar, the Reporting and Web Services Analyst has duties that include but are not limited to:

  • Supports the systems team with the testing and deployment of various applications and other enterprise level solutions.
  • Assists with the advanced troubleshooting of end-user support issues within the OUR office.
  • Develops end-user training for various functional groups within OUR and other departments within Georgetown University.
  • Interacts with external stakeholders and develops customized reports using Cognos.
  • Manages the ticketing system in Blackboard for OUR.
  • Assists with processing new user access for various student systems.
  • Provides systems support to various units within OUR.
  • Assists with updating the OUR website.
  • Participates in executing user acceptance testing for all OUR systems.
  • Develops written documentation (standard operating procedures) and end user instructions.
  • Assists with various system setups to support OUR operations.
  • If designated, leads and provides functional guidance to lower level support employees.
  • Serves as first point of contact for student data reporting. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Professional experience in higher education preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of FERPA regulations
  • Understanding of basic security structures within Banner
  • Familiarity with Microsoft and Google products, SQL, and HTML
  • Ability to demonstrate IT project management experience and knowledge of common administration tools and utilities
  • Knowledge of Cognos (or other BI application) and experience building and editing reports
  • Ability to demonstrate verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals within OUR and various colleges and departments within the university, and to maintain professional working relationships
  • A quick learner, self-driven, a can-do attitude, and the ability to work under general guidance/supervision
  • Ability to learn the university policies and procedures
  • High level of administrative and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations

Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge of student information systems - preferably Banner
  • Experience with building and editing reports
