Position Description:
Employee Relations/Labor Relations Manager, will spend about 60% of the time at United Medical Center assisting management in achieving Organizational goals by acting as a trusted coordinator/liaison on a range of employee labor relations matters including collective bargaining; the assistance “vis-à-vis” attorney/managers regarding the interpretation and administration of the CBA; and compliance with both Federal and Local labor laws.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree with coursework in labor relations, human resources, or related field.
    • 5 - 7 years direct experience in a labor relations position
    • Proven ability to make sound judgments on complex HR and business issues.
    • 2-3 years HR Generalist in healthcare setting preferred
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Must be flexible, proactive, and demonstrate a high level of credibility
    • Attention to detail and organizational skills are a must
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites (including Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Certification of PHR of SPHR preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to: develop and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of management within a large organization; influence decisions in a diverse work environment through utilization of effective interpersonal and communication skills; and apply leadership and conflict resolution skills.
