  • To qualify for this position, you must meet the education and specialized experience requirement below.

    To qualify at the GS-12 level, you must possess a Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, toxicology or a related scientific field; AND

    One year of specialized experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance methods, procedures, and systems in support of laboratory programs.

    Your rating will be based on your responses to the job specific information provided in your resume.     1. Comprehensive and thorough knowledge of the quality assurance process, including prevention, and the assessment and correction of analytical data and procedures, presenting it in a clear and concise manner, with excellent writing and communication skills.

    2. In-depth knowledge of a variety of Microsoft Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel), related instrument analytical software, and other automated databases (i.e. LIMS) to perform a wide range of qualitative and quantitative assessments of data to produce reports and recommendations. Knowledge of Westgard Rules, Level-Jennings, CLIA and CAP guidelines.

    3. Knowledge of the practices, principles and theories of toxicology procedures, including immunoassay, liquid- and solid[-phase extractions, gas and liquid chromatography, and mass spectral detection.

    4. Skill in calibrating and operating analytical instruments that performs drug testing in a forensic laboratory. Those included are immunoassay analyzers, Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer, and Liquid Chromatograph.
