Head Start/Early Head Start Operations Manager (Child Care Specialist II)
Responsible for the management, ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement of the facilities/transportation services at the Early Head Start and Head Start program sites. To ensure child safety and delivery of effective, high quality program services, ensures supervision of the facilities and transportation federal, state, and county standards, monitor transportation services implemented by the contracted bus drivers and aides, monitor building maintenance and projects performed by county contractors, and provide technical assistance, training, and disseminate of information regarding facilities and transportation to all Greater Mount Vernon management and staff. Works closely with the Early Head Start Program Site Manager and Head Start Coordinator to ensure high quality services for families across the Early Head Start and Head Start programs and plan for community collaborations in facilities/transportation services. Duties are performed under the supervision of the Head Start Coordinator.Employment Standards MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in early childhood education, psychology, social work, or a closely related field; plus two years of experience in day care administration, early childhood education, or related human service administration.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:Valid driver's license.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to the position must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check, Child Protective Services Registry check, and driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.
Bachelors degree. Three+ years experience in Head Start. Three+ years of experience with oversight of facilities projects (e.g., renovations, construction, etc.). Three+ years of experience in facilities management. Experience providing training and technical assistance.
Ability to lift up to 45 pounds. Ability to use automated technology. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
