Responsible for planning, organizing and reviewing supply areas on units with the help of the supply chain team for assigned units. Manages the buying and receiving of goods for special order items, patient supply charges, and efficient use of equipment at the department level. Monitor supply levels to make certain that the departments have the necessary supplies and equipment daily. Will assist in negotiate pricing for non-contract items. Helps coordinate the purchase of minor equipment, furniture, and capital. Helps to assist with broken equipment and notify the necessary departments. Required to maintain a high level of customer service relationship wiith the departments, vendors and Materials Management. Helps facilitate product evaluations with the supply chain team. Manages the supply budgets and reports for their departments and ensures that charges are being coded to the correct departments and patients. Works closely with the Materials Manager to ensure that the hospitals needs are being met.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Manages the supply storage space on the unit level to ensure adequate stock, standardization and organization.

Makes sure all special order requests are placed and received. Facilitates equipment purchases.

Ensures patient supply charges are entered.

Manages equipment needs with the help of biomed and SPD.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:

Bachelors degree preferred

Strong leadership skills required

Excellent communications and computer (Microsoft Office) skills required, advanced computer skills a plus.

Demonstrated excellent written skills and strong knowledge of spelling, grammar, and punctuation for proofreading, editing of own work as well as that of others.

Demonstrated office management capability, including ability to work autonomously to meet or exceed established deadlines

Demonstrated skills requiring considerable tact to handle frequent contacts with staff members at virtually all professional levels, vendors and other persons outside the organization.

Basic medical terminology knowledge

All other duties as assigned

In this full time role, you will work 8am-4:30pm
