Perspecta is an AA/EEO Employer - Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled and other protected categories Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities: - Manages and performs traditional general accounting functions/analysis within accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. - Responsible for several segments of the general accounting function either directly or through subordinate managers. - Responsible for the employment, training, and evaluation of assigned employees. - Assists the Controller in the daily banking requirements. - Insures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close. - Works with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit. - Responds to inquiries from the Controller or CFO, and other finance and company-wide managers regarding financial results and special reporting requests. Requires BA/BS with 12 to15 years, with at least six plus years as a manager. Incumbent will have a specialized knowledge in one or more fields of disciplines and general knowledge in a number of others. - 15+ years of experience in accounting operations. - The candidate must have hands-on experience with accounts payable, payroll, travel/expense, invoicing and collections. - He/she must have extensive experience and knowledge in in-house payroll. - The candidate must have experience leading an accounting department of managers, supervisors and staff, therefore strong communication and strong leadership skills are REQUIRED. - He/she must have experience implementing and maintaining strong internal controls and will interact with auditors (external/internal) frequently. - Costpoint and experience with systems integrations is REQUIRED. - CPA is desired, but not required. - This role includes frequent interactions with other directors within the organization (specifically accounting, finance, compliance and HR), therefore individual must demonstrate collaboration.
