Software Development Engineer

Job Responsibilities: * Developing new software products from the ground up * Engaging in all phases of the software lifecycle developing software solutions targeted for a Microsoft Windows client-server environment * Creating fault-tolerant software solutions * Creating scalable, automated solutions for our customer's system * Expanding existing software capabilities to meet the changing needs of our Customer end-users * Writing and conducting tests for existing and created code to ensure compatibility and stability * Designing and implementing multi-tier/multi-platform solutions in a test-driven development environment * Developing software as a member of an agile development team Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related technical field and 8-12 years related experience. * Active DoD TS/SCI clearance or eligibility is required for consideration * Experience with the full lifecycle software development process including requirements analysis, software architecture definition, software design, prototyping, programming, debugging and testing, system software integration and testing, software deployment and user training. * Proficiency with object-oriented design and programming practices. - Languages (Preferred): C# & SQL/TSQL - MS Visual Studio or Alternate IDE experience (Eclipse, Netbeans etc.) * Proficiency with code management tools (Subversion, Tortoise etc.) * Practical understanding of the .NET framework and CLR * Experience developing in an automated build, test & deployment environment * Practical experience as an agile development team member * Good verbal and written communicator, able to analyze and clearly articulate complex issues and technologies * Effective and proven personal ability to move projects forward on a schedule with minimal direct supervision * Capable of learning new technologies and tools as needed Leidos Overview: Leidos is a global science and technology solutions leader working to solve the world's toughest challenges in the defense, intelligence, homeland security, civil, and health markets.
