Job Description BASIC FUNCTIONS The Managing Director, Delivery System Markets and Special Projects is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) executive team. The Managing Director is responsible for helping to advance MAPMG's quality, service and efficiency. The individual in this role will identify improvement opportunities, develop business cases and lead roll-out efforts. This individual must also understand the delivery system market, and be able to examine, synthesize and explain the market and MAPMG's position in the market. Must possess initiative, creativity, passion for analytics, strong communication skills, emotional intelligence and excellent judgment. RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with other MAPMG leaders to identify opportunities for delivery system enhancements. Propose and develop compelling business cases. Lead the implementation of innovative delivery system strategic efforts to ensure goals are attained. Understand and communicate about the dynamics of the external health care market; changes to government health policy; the health insurance industry and products; hospitals in the Mid-Atlantic market; and community medical groups. Collect, dissect and summarize pertinent healthcare market data and internal delivery system performance data and share it in a format that educates and persuades internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with Kaiser Permanente Health Plan Sales and Account Management to support continued membership growth of our insurance product that delivers integrated, high quality care. Respond to Requests for Proposals (RFP) and oversee key strategic customers and relationships. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Master's Degree in business, hospital/healthcare administration or a related field is required. 10-15+ years of relevant experience, including delivery system experience. Knowledge of the national and local healthcare market, delivery system operations and the KP model of care. Fluency in the dynamics of delivery system operations including understanding levers that help to facilitate achievement of world-class quality, service and efficiency. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high‐pressure environment. Ability to promptly adjust or confirm approach in response to shifting environment, priorities, demands and timelines. Exceptional analytical skills. Strong leadership, project and consulting skills. Effective interpersonal problem-solving skills, superior judgment and discretion. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Consistently demonstrate the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to Kaiser Permanente members, contracted providers, vendors, and others.
