Field Service Technician
Job Description The Field Service Technician represents the equipment manufacturer (Fuji Electric) by interfacing with our customers (WMATA and Kawasaki Rail Car) and proves troubleshooting repair service to Door Systems (DS) and Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) for the WMATA 7000 Rail Car Project. Act as a liaison between Customer's On-Site Representative and SEMEC with regard to any technical matters related to the DS & APU. Provide technical services/support for any events related to the Door System and the Auxiliary Power Unit. Prepare and produce Field Service Report in accordance with the Customer's requirements. Perform troubleshooting work on the Door System (DS) and Auxiliary Power Unit (APU). Perform Field Service Modifications as per Customer's instructions. Provide Training to Client's Technicians. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Electrical experience highly desirably Must have an excellent attendance history. Must have and maintain a valid driver license. Must be able to obtain a WMATA Security Clearance. Adept at working both independently and as part of a team. Must be competent in interpreting blue prints and schematics Must have strong electromechanical troubleshooting and repair skills. High school diploma or equivalent. Technical degree highly desirable. Previous experience servicing passenger rail cars in a technical type roll is a plus. Computer proficiency in a Windows environment is required, especially Word and Excel. Spreadsheet knowledge is essential.
