RF DAS Engineer
Job Description BroadStaff is thrilled to be working with our partner who is a DAS System Integrator working throughout the Northeast on their full time, director RF Engineer position based in Washington DC. Position Summary: BroadStaff is seeking an RF Engineer to provide engineering expertise on a range of large scale in-building DAS projects. The individual will be responsible for the design and/or technical implementation working closely with the Director of Engineering and internal teams to develop and deploy designs that meet or exceed technical requirements and client expectations. Job Responsibilities: In-building DAS and Small Cell installation, commissioning and optimization Verify installation, termination, and testing of coax, fiber optic cable, Cat6a cable, couplers, splitters and antennas Perform and document Sweep, PIM, OTDR, signal level and noise measurements Validate installation of DAS head-end and remote equipment Assist wireless carriers in optimization of DAS, utilizing test phones and RF scanners Perform pot installation DAS maintenance to include system troubleshooting, problem solving and alarm clearing Lead the design reviews with the design engineers and report to the functional lead Job Qualifications: 3-5 years of hybrid in-building and field experience in DAS Knowledge of RF theory, Public Safety and Commercial carrier iDAS Ability to read Visio, CAD and iBwave (Level 1 Certification highly preferred) Proficient in use of RF and optical test equipment ie spectrum analyzer, base station analyzer, and OTDR, preferably Anritsu SM with certification Knowledge of wireless operator's technologies, standards, frequencies and KPIs DAS commissioning certification in at least one of the following DAS OEMs: Corning Mobile Access, CommScope, Teko, or Solid 30% of travel involved to client markets throughout the northeast Evening and weekend hours may be required in order to meet client needs and deadlines Company Description BroadStaff, LLC is a staffing and recruiting firm.
