Accounting Manager (CPA Required)
Job Description The company is based in Georgetown but a large amount of duties for this position can be done remotely. The duties for this job will likely be a little lighter than an average Accounting Manager position, as the average work week will likely be 30-40 hours. The Position The Senior Accountant will play a key role within the organization, providing critical financial information directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The ideal candidate will have expertise gained from prior experience in a similar role. He/she will be an organized self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision, and flexible enough to thrive within a small and growing company. Prepare journal entries and complete account reconciliations as part of the month-end close process. Monthly financial reporting from the balance sheet, profit and loss statement, statement of cash flows, and summary memo. Perform analysis and summarize account information and trends. Manage the company's expenses including: credit cards reconciliation, preparation of vendor and employee payments, improve purchasing controls, and analyze expense trends. Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Assist with preparation of annual budget and perform analysis and reporting on variances throughout the fiscal year. Tax research, planning, and prepare necessary schedules and documentation to support tax filings. Prepare support documentation for audits. Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options; suggest ways to reduce costs and improve profits. Maintain accounting controls by recommending policies and procedures. Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential. Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations. Act as liaison between management and the company's accounting firm to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements; advise management on needed actions. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
