Job Description Perform tasks involving physical labor for concrete and masonry construction projects. May operate a variety of hand and power tools. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces and concrete forms, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials. This is skilled manual labor in the construction and maintenance of concrete structures. Work of this class involves building, setting and aligning concrete forms, placing wire mesh and concrete and applying fine concrete finishing methods in new construction and rebuilding of sidewalks, curbs, gutters, vaults, ductlines, fences, retaining walls, playground equipment foundations and related concrete structures. Essential Functions 1. Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in concrete and masonry construction projects; perform manual work in preparing surfaces for concrete. 2. Shovel concrete into construction area. 3. Fine grade fill to grades given by foreman. 4. Assist in set forms and wall panel forms. 5. Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards. 6. Material handling and storage. 7. Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials.
