Job Description Washington DC Lobbying and Public Affairs Firm is currently seeking an experienced Counsel to expand its team in Washington DC This is not entry level position. The position will offer someone a unique experience of supporting C-level executives in a fast-growing (and top-performing) lobbying firm with a diverse client base. The Counsel will be instrumental in providing legal and strategic advice to the Firm's President and Chief of Staff. This includes drafting contracts and legal memorandums, litigating disputes, advising on LDA/FARA compliance, and other issues as needed. The Counsel may also have an opportunity to contribute to the Firm's client work (ie commenting on regulations, reviewing drafted legislation, etc.). Title and pay are commensurate with experience. Required Qualifications: -Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school -Minimum 3 years of experience as an attorney -Ability to anticipate legal issues or risks and to “see around the corner” -Proven negotiation skills -Admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and in good standing Preferred Qualifications: -Admitted to practice law in California, Maryland, and Virginia -Previous counsel experience in the White House, Congress, advocacy organization, or lobbying firm.
