Key skills - - Pretty technical Analyst - able to write SQL queries, evaluate code, create UML Diagrams - Experience in a large complex enterprise app/data heavy environment - Able to assist with UAT - Strong Agile, Jira experience - experience with User Stories POSITION SUMMARY The Senior Requirements Analyst role on an agile team is responsible for analysis, design, delivery, and ongoing IT support for products/systems within a key IT business capability. This role will partner with the Capability Product Owner/Stakeholders and Team Lead/Scrum Master to deliver IT initiatives aligned with the business to grow and deliver the business/program vision. This role will possess deep subject matter expertise in both business and technical areas including College Board IT and Vendor/Suppliers and have experience leading software development initiatives. This role will facilitate cross-team planning and will also lead release and sprint planning activities in support of the product. Relationship Management: · Work closely with the Product Owner to help facilitate definition, delivery and growth of the Capability's products/systems in support of the business vision. · Engages with the Capability Product Owner and Technical Stakeholders as a single point of contact for all their business needs. · Coordinates with the Scrum Master on release and sprint planning activities such as estimation of work, other system and cross workstreams dependencies, etc. · Coordinates with the Product Owner to prioritize the Product Backlog and manages risk. · Builds and maintains highly effective relationships with all College Board teams and vendors. Ensure relationships with the team members, stakeholders and cross-team members are professional and meet management expectations. · Work with the Business & Technical Stakeholders to understand, influence, and negotiate the prioritization of their work items. · Develop and maintain multiple business and technical skillsets to support the agile team as needed and appropriate. Scoping and Planning: · Providing subject matter expertise in technical assessment of products/systems. · Drive and facilitate cross-team planning sessions for the development of the product roadmap in concert with business and technology partners. · Proposes creative ideas and approaches to leverage the applications and various platforms to solve business problems and keep requests within scope. · Provides capability modeling, both conceptually and systematically and providing input into operational processes in support of the products. · Leads or participates in Sprint planning according to available capacity through team velocity. · Leads or participates in grooming efforts to properly classify and assess impact to other products, services and processes. · Leads or participates in Scrum team meetings and ceremonies. · Reviews and Defines the Scope and completeness of the Work Requests to ensure they provide the best fit for the long-term business needs and meets or exceeds quality standards and expectations. · Effectively communicates risk and change through the team and up through the Scrum process to other teams. · Leads or participates in the use of story mapping and agile techniques to break down work items at the highest level to tasks. · Ensure estimation aligns with the grooming process and is done in an effective manner. Requirements Elicitation: · Conducts JAD sessions to elicit requirements using IT best practices. Analyze and translate business requirements into system requirements (functional and non-functional business requirements) and document requirements using various types of requirements artifacts such as System context diagrams, Use Case models, Use Cases, User Stories, and Activity Diagrams to further define system requirements. · Conducts reviews of requirements with the product owner to obtain agreement. · Conducts reviews of requirements and issues with development and testing team. · Develops service definitions and specifications and provides to service delivery organizations · Communicates agreed upon requirements as well as answer any requirement questions to/from key stakeholders. · Ensures requirements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, verifiable, and that they conform to College Board standards. · Prepares Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM). · Utilizes UML techniques to conduct business process analysis. Education/ Experience: · Undergraduate degree required · Technical degree/background highly desirable · 5-7+ years of IT experience in business systems analysis in a large-scale environment across multiple hardware and software platforms. Related Skills & Other Requirements: · Experience in business and systems analysis, design and documentation. · Demonstrated high competency in systems analysis for multiple large projects. · Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management. · Superior verbal and written communication skills. · Strong organizational skills. · Experience using Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Office tools, preferably. · Experience using Wiki, Jira. · Experience with requirements management tools. · Experience working in an iterative development environment (familiarity with Agile/Scrum is highly desired) · Experience in meeting facilitation and meeting notes documentation. · Understanding of various issues tracking/resolution, scope estimation and scope management processes. · Understanding of use case and activity diagrams and use case specifications or user stories. · Effective communication skills are a must along with a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to clearly discern client needs. · Ability to effectively coordinate multiple responsibilities simultaneously, with fast, flexible work style. · Knowledge of Higher Education related software applications is a plus Company Description About ASTA CRS: ASTA Corporate Resource Solutions Inc is one of the Fastest Growing IT Companies in Northern America and the DC Metro Area with its headquarters in Ashburn, Virginia .
