Job Description CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR / PM L. A. Howard is a CBE Certified company with 25 years' experience providing quality Structural and Site Concrete services to the Washington, DC Metro area. We are looking for an experienced Concrete Construction Estimator with Project Management Experience. The ideal candidate must have a strong construction estimating background with fundamental knowledge of project management. The estimator/project manager will be responsible for managing projects from the initial Invitation-To-Bid to the preconstruction planning through project scheduling, budgeting and cost control, and final close-out. Must be able to demonstrate experience in: · concrete estimating using digital estimating software preferably Procore or Bim360 and concrete construction management · meeting deadlines/budgets and managing multiple projects simultaneously · handling client needs while maintaining costs/corporate goals Primary Responsibilities: · Reviewing proposal specifications, drawings, attending pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate · Preparing final assembly of estimate for presentation to General Contractors · Job costing, management and closeout of concrete construction work · Owner, GC and Subcontractor coordination · Contract administration · Change Order Logs and Subcontract Change Order tracking · RFI, Submittal, and As-Built tracking · Assuming the role of hands-on Project Manager for those projects that have been awarded. · Working with the vendors to make sure that delivery of the supplies is ordered and delivered to the project as needed. · Maintaining project files in an accessible and well-organized manner. · Preparing monthly billings and tracks billable labor and material against the bid estimates · Upon project completion, conducting debriefing with the Management and production teams to discuss positive and negative aspects of the project Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferably in Structural Engineering General knowledge of construction principles and processes. Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications. General knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids, and GMP processes. Working knowledge of estimating software 2+ years Construction Project Management experience Experience with AIA Invoicing Proficiency with Project Management software Solid problem-solving skills Ability to be flexible to adjust to changing conditions and the needs of our customers Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to Read Blueprints Must have a clean driving record Pass a drug screen and perform background review Lift up to 50lbs if needed REQUIRED Experience: Construction: 5 years Estimating: 3 years Project Management: 2 years Job Cost Tracking: 2 years Reliable transportation with a clean driving record Must pass drug screening, background check and random drug testing
