Career Technology Teacher/ Cosmetology
Job Description Perform of varied duties including organization and provision of a program of instruction designed to meet the needs of Emotional and Learning Disabled students (ED/LD). Prepare of standard based lesson plans that ensure student maximum time on task. Instruct students using theory and applied knowledge Maintain appropriate record keeping, including but not limited to grade books, attendance, and academic progress. Provide research-based strategies and current pedagogies. Provide instructional guidance to the instructional staff. Provide classroom support. Work collaboratively with peers to integrate lessons and assist in the monitoring of behavioral and emotional plans for students. Participate in all professional development training. Maintain the overall school's mission. Work collaboratively with content area teacher, related services providers and BIS team to ensure IEP goals are met. Assist in the planning and writing of IEP's. Work with all service providers to plan and write behavioral plans. Attend IEP Meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Cosmetology This program is geared toward students developing a fundamental skills set in Barbering and Cosmetology. This program also prepares students to take the state board exam of to enable them to be prepared to become licensed practitioners in their field. The students focus on theory and hands on approach at the Village Academy. * (Must be licensed with the Department of Labor and Licensing DLLR) Qualifications: High School Diploma + 5 or more years in trade area of automotive, carpentry, barbering, & cosmetology Experience working with students identified with learning or emotional disability Must possess experience, certifications, and work experience in the career field of career field technology education. Must be highly qualified according the NCLB (2001) guidelines. Staff must obtain a license in their field and have at least five years experience and obtain certification in CTE/ to include Cosmetology.
