Job Description Job Category: Sr. Python Developer Position Title: Software Programmer 4 Location: Washington, DC Description: Experienced Senior Python Developer to enhance, update, develop, and maintain the FEC Web site. The public as well as FEC staff use the web site to research reports filed with the FEC and check on legal matters. Technical oversight is performed by the IT efiling and Disclosure Teams. CLEARANCE LEVEL: POSITION of TRUST/SUITABILITY REQUIREMENT: Please be aware that this position requires a US Government Public Trust/Suitability determination. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Bachelor's Degree in related field EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: N/A CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: N/A EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED: · Bachelor's degree in related field, minimum 5+ years' experience with Python. · Overall 8+ years of experience · Required to maintain, upgrade, revise, and support FEC website applications. · Proven track record of producing well documented, maintainable code · Create and use restful APIs · Use open source libraries · Familiarity with testing frameworks such as pytest · Use Python with an ORM (object relational mapping) · Use version control such as git · Manage multiple Python environments · Keep dependencies up to date · Use a migration framework to apply data changes · These resources will also perform application and web server configuration and management.
