Job Description Conveniently located school is looking to hire kindergarten teachers for the 2018-19 class The Hellenic Education Center in Falls Church Virginia is seeking a Kindergarten teacher for its inaugural kindergarten class. This position will allow the right candidate the ability to help lead and create this new program. This is a part time position (4.5 hours daily) in a Kindergarten bilingual program. This position can be turned into a full time (12 month) position by adding hours in the Paideia preschool class or before/after care responsibilities, according to the candidate's preference. Responsibilities: Design and deliver language arts, math, health, and social studies instruction according to an inquiry-based model of education Implement best practice in emergent literacy instruction for multilingual learners Collaborate with a Greek language math and science teacher for planning and lesson delivery Supervise students during recess, lunch, and transition times Maintain regular communication with parents about student progress Deliver instruction in at least one "special" area (music, PE, art), according to qualifications and interest Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in early childhood education 1+ years of experience in teaching minimum kindergarten aged children Demonstrated interest in multilingual/multicultural education is desired but not required We offer: 50% discount on daycare services Inquiry-based curriculum Small class size (10 or fewer students) Daily planning time Personalized learning environment for staff and students A community based school A holistic approach to teaching and learning Academic calendar in line with area districts Opportunities for year-round school employment Salary competitive with area districts Paid vacation & sick time Company Description Education in our community has been of paramount importance for generations.
