If so, the Human Resources (HR) Specialist position at Adoptions Together may be for you! Overview The HR Specialist handles and provides support for various human resources functions within the organization for employees, contractors, interns, volunteers, and serves as a liaison with the HR Consultant in the delivery of high-quality, comprehensive HR services. This position is full-time and is based out of the Calverton office of Adoptions Together. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree & minimum of 3 years administration experience; nonprofit/HR experience preferred; personal or professional experience with adoption and/or child welfare desirable. Skills and Abilities High level of interpersonal and ethical skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products. Experience using database (HRIS, ATS) and cloud-based software. Ability to think and work independently, prioritize and problem solve. High level of teamwork with the ability to collaborate within and across departments. Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Effective and accurate multi-tasking skills. Understanding of adoption and child welfare issues and concerns desirable. Compensation & Benefits The salary for this position is $40,000 plus benefits. Additional Notes Each employee is required to complete (and maintain as necessary) a physical exam to include a TB test, a criminal background check in identified jurisdictions, Child Protective Services Registries check in identified jurisdictions, and orientation training.
