Job Description Build a positive relationship with mentees based on trust, caring, unconditional regard, and individual strengths and needs. Provide transportation and directly supervise mentees on activities in the community. Maintain high quality documentation of all case work, completed within established due dates, and consistent with outlined program policies. A written report within 48hours of each meeting or activity Monthly report of all activities and meeting times Develop and maintain relationships with case managers, social workers, parents, guardians and any other agencies involved with mentee. Make a minimum 1 year commitment to developing and maintain a mentor relationship with a child/adolescent. Attend and participate in monthly Mentor Supervision meetings, as well as work related trainings and events as mandated by YFT. Meet with the mentee on a regular basis to establish working relationship and to support mentee with goals. At least 20 hours per month. Assist mentee in problem solving and other problems that interfere with mentees success at school, home and in the community. Maintain accurate time logs and other information as requested by mentor coordinator. Consult with Mentoring Coordinator for guidance and direction for emergency and/or high risk situations. Must have good oratory skills due to possibility of testifying in court cases. Qualifications: A high school diploma or degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field, and/or 15 years or more relevant experience. Ability to communicate with children/adolescences openly and nonjudgmentally; Ability to establish relationships based on equal responsibility and respect Practical problem-solving skills and ability to suggest options and alternatives, as well as display a high level of sensitivity to persons of different educational, economic, cultural, or racial backgrounds. Must have a valid drivers license, and an acceptable driving record, proof of automobile insurance and current negative TB screening, and seven years older than your mentee prior to hire.
