Job Description Manage all accounting, general ledger, financial statement preparation, treasury, accounts receivable, accounts and payable. The position is also responsible for implementing policies and procedures to ensure proper safeguarding of assets and maintenance of proper internal controls over financial reporting. Responsibilities: - Design and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP - Ensure timely monthly close process and preparation of financial statements - Maintains monthly accounting schedule and accurate completion of reports from staff on a timely basis - Controls security maintenance in Great Plains General ledger - Approves ADP payroll - Approves wire transfers as appropriate - Reviews reconciliations of balance sheet accounts - Handles sales and use tax related matters and maintains tax calendar - Ensures timely recording of transactions and the integrity and accuracy of financial reports - Analysis of preapid and accrual accounts - Responsible for compliance with covenants under the credit facility - Coordinates accounts payable procedures to ensure timely recording and payment to business partners - Coordinates annual audit and liaison with external auditors - Designs and implements internal accounting controls to ensure proper segregation of duties, safeguarding of assets, approvale of transactions, and accuracy of reporting transactions - Prepares analytical reports as necessary to understand variances in reported financial information - Train, develop and lead the members of the finance team and provides guidance and supervison of team members QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Education: - MBA/BBA in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation with experience preferably from Big 4 firm Qualifications: - Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in the areas of accounting, treasury, and financial statement preparation and in supervisory positions - Knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics accounting system and FRX report writer - Experience in a mid to large corporate environment with revenues in excess of $250 mil - Experience in implementing procedures to ensure proper internal controls in the finance area - Ability to multitask on various projects and prioritize responsibilities effectively and efficiently - Outsatnding communication and interpersonal skills - Leadership skills to ensure appropraite selection, training and motivation of department staff - Advanced analytical and problem solving skills - Team player - Results oriented - Excellent Microsoft excel skills Company Description Civilized People is known throughout the industry for our honesty, integrity and straightforward nature.
