Software Developer

Key Role:

Design, develop, and implement a multi-protocol mediation layer across disparate wireless technologies in service to US Army tactical operations or similar sized team operations. Enable programs within the Army directorate to test and demonstrate wireless communication technologies being developed to support the tactical edge. Provide support to programs, including the Intra-Soldier Wireless (ISW) and Squad Area Networking (SQAN) programs. Maintain responsibility for soliciting and documenting software requirements from project stakeholders, documenting software designs, and developing and executing test plans, including verification of results and validation of design requirements. Assist with training junior software engineering staff.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with developing embedded application software using C and C++ languages

-Experience with developing software on Linux- and Android-based operating systems, including Linux and Android network stacks

-Experience with using industry-standard virtualization techniques while developing software

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-2-3 years of experience in working with RF-based products, including software-defined radios

-1-3 years of experience with performing software development to wirelessly integrate commercial products, including Android smartphones, such as the Samsung Galaxy Note, small form factor computers, such as Raspberry Pi, wearable displays, such as Vufine+ or Vuzix M100, optical rangefinders, such as Garmin LIDAR-Lite v3, and video processor evaluation kits, such as Geo Semiconductor GW5 EVK
-Experience with network protocol layers 1, 2, and 3

-Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree in CS, EE, or a related engineering or technical field
