Job Summary:

Westat is seeking a qualified individual to help support epidemiological studies, analysis and reports, and the management of related datasets. This position is based at the client site in Washington, DC.

Job Responsibilities:

· Work side by side with Westat clients on epidemiological data and analyses measuring and linking exposure to hazards, healthcare utilization and health outcomes. · Writing, testing and executing programs in SQL and/or SAS to merge data from different sources, conduct analysis, and develop reports supporting epidemiological studies · Contribute to a project team conducting ongoing evaluation, data analysis, and descriptive products characterizing the relationships between exposures and healthcare outcomes of unique subpopulations (e.g., veterans, military service members). · Developing solutions to complex problems requiring a background in health, epidemiology, database management and/or quantitative research. · Direct the activities of other team members as necessary.

Basic Qualifications:

· A Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, or related health science and at least 5 years of relevant work experience is required. · U.S. Citizenship is required. The ideal candidate will have experience developing programs in SQL or SAS to produce tables and other types of output, merge and link data from multiple sources, and manage large datasets in support of epidemiological or health-related research studies. Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills; strong organizational skills; the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; detail-oriented and work well in a team environment.
