ABOUT US NatureServe, a nonprofit conservation science and technology organization, provides the scientific basis for effective conservation action. We provide information and tools to conservation groups, government agencies, corporations, academia, and the public to help them make informed decisions about managing our natural resources. NatureServe holds a unique niche, by providing scientifically sound guidance for major conservation investments across the hemisphere. DESCRIPTION: This position is a great opportunity to gain experience in science content creation, data analysis, public relations, and product marketing. Working in the Marketing Department, the Marketing Intern's role will focus on supporting NatureServe's engagement with the NatureServe Network and target audiences. Under the supervision of the Marketing Associate, the intern will perform research on related biodiversity conservation news and events, support in the creation of social media content, contribute to weekly science communications newsletters, and support the Marketing Department in related projects. The internship duration is from January until April 2018. Work hours: 3 days a week, with flexible work hours DUTIES: Attend meetings with his/her supervisor(s) and relevant to area of learning Support the publishing of content for NatureServe social media platforms Assist in creation of What's Current Marketing newsletters Support internal staff with marketing collateral for related events of target audiences Perform Google Analytics and AdWords reports for NatureServe websites, and analyze findings Assist in related projects within Marketing that require graphic design REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Proficiency in using a PC and Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Research, Science Communications experience Social Media content creation skills Graphic design experience Be organized, punctual, creative, adaptable, and a quick thinker with a genuine willingness to learn daily PREFERRED SKILLS: Graphic design and photography experience Internship for college credit: In college studying related subjects (Marketing, Digital Marketing) ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to sit/stand at a computer for several hours per day Able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. without supervision HOW TO APPLY Please send resume with 3 references and cover letter to NATURESERVE IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER m/f/vets/disability 0 Job Posted by ApplicantPro
