    Basic Education Requirement:

    In order to be qualified for this position, applicants must meet the following qualification requirement:

    Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position.

    or

    Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in A above.

    In addition to meeting the basic education requirement above, applicants must also meet the following requirement:

    To qualify at the GS-13 level: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience with museum education planning; Experience with the development of education programs and products, as well as exhibits, in the informal learning environment of the Museum; Experience with elementary and secondary curriculum planning; Providing support in the administration, development, implementation, and evaluation of K-12 system-wide assessment program; Experience with Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
    • Education / Training Program Administration
    • Oral Communication
    • Teaching Others

    FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
