Recruits all positions (from manager level, up to and including, executive level) using all available recruiting options to ensure Owens & Minor is attracting and retaining the best management team available. This position will manage the Recruiter and will report to the Manager, Human Resources.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1.Work closely with management team to develop creative recruiting strategies to attract high level candidates while maintaining low cost per hire in an increasingly competitive market. 2.Provides management with ongoing consultation regarding staffing needs. 3.Searches for and identifies candidates for highly specialized and difficult-to-attract positions while actively advocating diversity recruitment. 4.Develops and maintains effective relationships with all levels of company management to ensure staffing needs are effectively assessed and requirements are met. 5.Ensures recruitment and employment activities are in compliance with government regulations and organization policies and procedures. 6.Develops new sources, screening and recruiting techniques, tools, etc. that build our image as a professional recruiting team and enhance our ability to hire the best candidates in a cost effective and timely manner. 7.Develops a diverse recruiting strategy to ensure Owens & Minor is attracting and retaining the best management team available. 8.Manages the recruiting process to include relationships with networking, targeted recruiting, alternative media notices and any other channels of communication. 9.Manages the Recruiter to include conducting coaching/counseling sessions, preparing performance appraisals, and providing opportunities for training and development. 10.Ensures O & M is represented at job fairs and on the internet to ensure increased company visibility. 11.Ensures agencies are providing the level of customer service that O & M expects. 12.Develops ads and works with agencies regarding timing and placement of ads in selected newspapers. 13.Negotiates contracts with recruitment and advertising agencies on fees and conditions. 14.Assists the Manager, Human Resources in the development of Affirmative Action Plans.SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1.Performs additional duties as directed.STRENGTH REQUIREMENT:Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
