The client is Program Executive Office (PEO) Enterprise Informations Systems (EIS). Responsibilities The Data Engineer possesses experience in the full complement of data engineering activities across the program life, and is capable of preparing recommendations with sufficient rationale to advise senior leader decisions that enable program success. The Data Engineer primarily prepares data for analytical and /or operational uses within a defined organization, functional, and / or application context. This includes (1) leading / developing data products within the system / software development life cycle from requirements definition, to architecture, design, implementation, and test, through deployment and operations and support; (2) defining / developing techniques to integrate, consolidate, and structure data for analytical use, to include ability to inform on data aggregation and associated security implications; (3) identifying data migration strategies to transition data from legacy systems and technologies to advanced, enterprise-based solutions; (4) preparing strategic and tactical recommendations with sufficient rationale to advise senior leader decisions relative to the applicability and application of data technologies; (5) performing assessments relative to data architecture, design, and implementation, and identify system impacts associated with new requirements, and requirements changes; and (6) contribute to technical collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The individual must (a) understand and have the ability to apply/implement cloud-based data and database technologies; (b) be able to develop data architecture and design products; (c) have knowledge of multiple databases and associated schemas, and (d) have the knowledge and skills to apply data standards and best practices while adhering to applicable Department of Defense (DoD) laws, policies, directives, mandates and guidance, to include data protection of sensitive information (eg Personally identifiable information (PII) and Protected Health information (PHI)). Qualifications Possesses a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, or information systems, or related management field.At least 15 years direct experience in acquiring information technology base systems within major Department of Defense acquisition programs.Security Clearance: For this position, LMI will only consider applicants with a current secret security clearanceAvailability to travel 10%
