Assistant Director for International Programs

The Office of International Programs and Services seeks to fill the position of Assistant Director for International Programs. Duties include:

  • Collaborating in the development, implementation and evaluation of campus life internationalization efforts;
  • Managing outreach efforts to internationalize campus life for students;
  • Collaborating with the Office of Housing and other key stakeholders in the implementation of the Global Patriots Living/Learning Community;
  • Collaborating with colleagues and student leaders in planning and implementing co-curricular efforts related to global learning and cross-cultural engagement;
  • Develop programs for key annual events, including International Education Week, International Week and others;
  • Perform other duties, including but not limited to orientation planning, cross-cultural training, strategic planning, supervision of student workers, and others. Required Qualfications:
  • Masters degree in International Education, Global Affairs, Higher Education, Area Studies or another field related to the responsibilities of the position.
  • Significant demonstrated higher education experience, preferably in a field related to international educational exchange;
  • Excellent organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, balance completing priorities and meet deadlines in a high pressure environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including strong writing ability, presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively to non-native speakers of English;
  • Ability to plan, implement and assess programmatic initiatives in a highly collaborative environment;
  • Ability to relate well to individuals from diverse cultural, social and educational backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of cross-cultural adjustment and communication;
  • Experience in teaching or training adult learners;
  • Experience supervising student employees;
  • Experience living, studying or traveling abroad;
  • Advanced experience creating data reports in Excel.
