Graphic Designer in Proposals for Health Services
MAXIMUS is a leading operator of government health and human services programs and partners with state, federal and local governments to provide critical, high quality health and human service programs to a diverse array of communities. We are searching for an experienced graphic designer to reinvigorate our visuals for our US Health proposal efforts. The Graphic Designer will support high-profile submissions and be part of the coordination for the proposal's end-to-end look and feel, including macro needs such as covers, table of contents, and super tabs, as well as targeted micro needs including in-narrative graphics (infographics, process flows, organizational charts, etc.), and recreating standard graphics. The Graphic Designer must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign; Microsoft Office including SharePoint and PowerPoint; and have demonstrated experience in bringing print narratives to life through design. The ideal candidate will also have demonstrated success serving as a visual change agent for an organization's division, supporting long-term initiatives, and strategic goals. The Graphic Designer will report to the Senior Manager, and Technical Writing Team. The Graphic Designer will be required to complete a strategic graphic exercise Forges and executes innovative, forward thinking visuals to enhance readability, draw the reader into the content, and distinguish MAXIMUS in the marketplace;Coordinates design efforts for each proposal and ensures coherency across fonts/typography, layout, coloring, kerning, shading, saturation, sizing, etc.;Works with Capture team and proposal writers during storyboarding sessions and review cycles to assist in developing and refining conceptual designs including: infographics, data visualization, process flows/architectures, timelines, transitions/transformation approaches, value propositions/win themes, etc.;Participates in graphic review calls with writers, with the goal to lead calls in the future;Clearly communicates in-person and in writing design concepts with clear reasoning behind proposed solutions;Collaborates across the group to raise standards of creativity;Reviews RFP and supporting documents to verify that graphics are in brand and compliant with all RFP requirements (font sizing, file sizes, etc.);Involved in the production and delivery of materials by working closely with internal stakeholders (Technical Writing team, Capture Manager, Proposal Operations, and Desktop Publishing) ;Stays up-to-date with industry trends and professional development opportunities to differentiate MAXIMUS from competitors;Completes other initiatives and duties as assigned or requestedHighly preferred: experience and understanding of desktop publishingBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience;1 - 2 years of graphic design experience;Current, working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop;Current, working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint SharePoint;Professional client service manner and ability to interact with all levels of management; experience working with teams in a large matrixed organization a plus;Demonstrated the understanding of how to manage complex projects, tight deadlines, and synthesize direction from multiple stakeholders;Self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to manage own time and take initiative;Demonstrates creativity, oral and written communication, listening, and decision-making skills;Outstanding attention to detail and quality;Excellent writing and editing skills;Ability to travel as required (< 20%).
