We are seeking a Systems Engineer SME to work at a client location at Fort Belvoir, VA.The successful candidate for this position will suppport a program office within PEO EIS organization. Responsibilities The Systems Engineer possesses extensive experience in the full complement of systems engineering activities from requirements definition, to architecture, design, implementation, and test, through deployment and operations and support; and is capable of preparing recommendations with sufficient rationale to advise senior leader decisions that enable program success. The Systems Engineer will support efforts to (1) analyze user needs to determine functional and technical requirements, identify interrelationships, dependencies and prioritization, and ensure requirement statements are measurable and testable; (2) define and / or review business process models and technical specifications; (3) align engineering activities with program acquisition strategies to include ensuring schedule is achievable and adequate technical performance measures and controls are in place; (4) perform feasibility studies and preparing recommendations to leadership; (5) define and implement the requirements management process to include requirements traceability, requirements maintenance; (6) develop release plans aligned to capability priorities; (7) perform assessments of the infrastructure and provide status of system stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of the system architecture to include identifying risks with actions and timelines for mitigation; (8) contribute to technical collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; (9) communicate project information through presentations, technical reports, or white papers; (10) analyze or predict system performance under different operating conditions; (11) perform technical analyses and identify system impacts associated with new requirements, and requirements changes; and (12) apply engineering expertise across all life cycle phases (solution analysis, risk reduction, development, deployment, and sustainment) and key activities (analysis, design, implementation, test and evaluation, training, deployment, maintenance). Qualifications Possesses a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, or information systems, or related management field.At least 15 years direct experience in acquiring information technology base systems within major Department of Defense acquisition programs.Must possess a valide Secret Security Clearance.
