Looking for a candidate familiar with a lab environment and able to follow directions and process. This position is responsible to make sure the Clinical Laboratory Scientist follow the daily collection of patient samples according to established policies and procedures. Understands laboratory sample collections, processing and storage requirements for in-house testing and referral lab testing.Company: ConfidentialPosition: Clinical Laboratory ScientistLocation: Baltimore, MD 21216Duration: 3 months Temp to HirePay Rate: $ 32 hrSchedule: Mon. - Fri. | 8 am - 5 pmTechnical Supervisor (Clinical Laboratory) is responsible for the daily testing of patient samples in all areas of the clinical laboratory according to established policies and procedures to include: Operation of computerized and automated instrumentation, quality control and maintenance, quality assurance and test results distribution. Knowledgeable of the principles upon which lab tests are based and can recognize appropriate questionable and critical results. Possesses the ability to organize workload for maximum efficiency, accuracy and ensures that reports are legible. Oversees and manages the assigned department including staff, education, quality control, quality assurance and the overall quality of Lab test results. Must be available to provide on-site, telephone or electronic consultation as needed.Job RelationsWorkers Supervised: Lab Supervisors, Medical Technologists, Medical Technicians, Testing personnel and PhlebotomistQualifications Meets applicable CLIA requirements for Clinical Laboratory Director and State Licensing qualifications where applicable. Must possess a strong background in immunopathology and chemistry.Qualifications must include the following knowledge and education requirements: Applicant must be a MD/DO/DPM or PhD and certified in clinical pathology and one year of lab training or experience in high complexity microbiology, immunopathology, chemistry with a minimum of six months in sub-specialty of service. OR Applicant must possess a Masters degree in laboratory science and two years of lab training or experience in high complexity microbiology, immunopathology, chemistry with a minimum of six months in subspecialty of service. LCMS OR Applicant must possess a bachelor's degree in laboratory science and four years lab training of experience in high complexity microbiology, immunopathology, chemistry with a minimum of six months and sub-specialty of service.PHYSICAL DEMANDS Requires prolonged standing, frequent sitting, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting up to 40 pounds. Requires normal range of hearing, color- vision and manual dexterity sufficient to operate laboratory instrumentation, keyboard, telephone, fax, photocopier and other office equipment as needed. Requires ability to work under stressful conditions and possess good communication skills.WORKING CONDITIONThe occupant of this position spends 95% of the time inside air-conditioned work area.
