The Law & Economics Center of the George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School is a national center for research and education that focuses on the timely and relevant economic analysis of legal and public policy issues. The LEC has an opening for an Executive Assistant and Office Manager.

This position will be responsible for providing administrative support to the LEC’s executive management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Screening calls;
  • Managing calendars and making travel and meeting arrangements;
  • Preparing reports and financial data;
  • Training and supervising other support staff;
  • Customer relations.

This position will also be responsible for overall front office activities, including the reception area, mail, large purchasing requests and facilities, as well as directing and coordinating office services and related activities, including developing and supervising programs for the maximum utilization of services and equipment. As required, this position may also be responsible for arranging internal office moves and providing arrangements for office meetings.

Required Qualifications:
  • A bachelors’ degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated significant experience in office management or as an executive assistant is preferred.

This position requires strong computer and internet research skills. It also calls for flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.
