Seeking a Billing Supervisor for an international law firm that specializes in climate and environmental change. The firm has been around since the early 1900's. They are a dedicated, passionate and top-notch firm to work for in the DC metro area. The firm consists of over 600 lawyers. The ideal person they are looking for is someone who has prior exp. supervising daily functions for a billing dept., maintaining and keeping management in the loop on new changes, issues, and goals pertaining to the billing dept.  Duties:

  • Coordinates collection activities for assigned team to ensure timely payment
  • Provides direction on difficult collection situations in consultation with Collections Analyst and Billing and Collections Manager
  • Supervises preparation of reports as requested by management
  • Maintains a portion of billing and collections support on individual billing assignments
  • Supervises billing activities for assigned team to ensure timely and accurate preparation of bills
  • Provides direction on reporting and unique billing situations, in consultation with Billing Supervisor and Billing and Collections Manager
  • Supervises preparation of reports as requested by management
  • Addresses any potential issues that arise, working with the Billing and Collections Manager and Human Resources Department as needed to address these issues in a timely manner
  • Ability to work with the Billing Supervisor and Billing and Collections Manager to identify and address additional training needs

 

 

Requirements:

  • High School diploma required; college degree preferred, including courses in Accounting and/or Finance
  • 5+ years’ billing experience, preferably in a law firm or other large professional services organization
  • Knowledge with multi-faceted billing
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Aderant or comparable accounting software; 10-key calculator
  • Proficient use of PC and knowledge of MS Office, including Word and Excel
