The Opportunity | Product Manager Reporting to the Business Unit Head, the Product Manager (PM) is responsible for the overall success of a product/product portfolio with the ultimate measure its return on investment with supporting success metrics that include, but are not limited to design wins, bookings and revenue generation results that align with forecasts. The PM is responsible for the commercial success of a product, overseeing it from inception, through design, build, launch, growth, enhancement and eventual sunset. By intimately understanding the target market needs, pain and requirements, they deliver market, customer and technical specifications to engineering/product development teams so they can execute on a product engineering design effort. The PM also ensures that the final product provides differentiation to increase the probability of win. The PM is the overall technical and product subject matter expert in support of Marketing and Sales and is responsible for defining and maintaining the Product Roadmaps for the portfolio. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement strategies for existing and new products and prepare business cases that include return on investment, pricing, profit margins, forecasts for bookings, revenue, and design wins, while ensuring a good competitive and differentiated value proposition is being offered through competitive, market and industry research. Give direction in kicking off and managing Engineering on product development requirements, drive adherence to product specifications and product/project development milestones/Time to Market (TTM), along with cost targets based on insights from interactions and research from the target market. Manage the ongoing health of the product line through regular sales forecasts and design win estimates Provide prospects and customers product line subject matter expertise via Sales Support Marketing content creation and product line positioning Work closely with Marketing's efforts to develop positioning, value propositions and competitive research that will address target market needs, pain and challenges Maintain and communicate regular product line bulletins and schedules to customers, prospects and sales Maintain a strong working knowledge of the current and future technology trends and needs of the product portfolio by working closely with the relevant CTOs and gaining their insights Work with Lifecycle Services team to manage the availability of the products through its product life Work with Manufacturing, Engineering Services, Quality and other Operations groups to ensure the product performs and operates as per the specification and customer expectations Work closely with the CTOs and PLMs from other business units to ensure that product roadmaps align with the overall company strategy and industry technology direction. Support Sales with online, web and onsite product line training Drive third-party collaborative product development, and support cooperative marketing/sales (via Strategic Alliances Manager) and business capture activities SKILLS Detailed knowledge of High Performance Embedded Computing technologies including general purpose processors, FPGA's, GPGPU's, and high speed data acquisition in the military/aerospace industry. Insights into relevant industry standards including VME/VPX/PMC/XMC form factors and standards, etc. Insights into relevant software including Real-time operating systems, signal processor libraries, and multi-processor middleware. Security clearance a plus. Entrepreneurial and innovative spirit and sense of urgency, and a highly motivated self-starter Excellent written and oral communication, presentation and interpersonal skills A good understanding of product, market & marketing strategy development EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Relevant hardware/software Engineering Degree, or equivalent experience Relevant business degree, or equivalent experience Minimum 5 years relevant experience in Product, Program and/or Engineering Management, or Product Marketing REQUIRED Must always have an up to date and valid passport since travel internationally will be required This position may require exposure to information which is subject to US export control regulations, ie the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
