    Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.

    Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards requirements for GS-1016-7.  This requires at least one year of specialized experience.  Specialized experience is at least one year of combined experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service, handling works of art within a laboratory or museum environment.

    Other Relevant Eligibility Criteria:  The applicant must have normal or correctible-to-normal vision.  The applicant must possess accurate color perception.  The applicant must be able to climb stairs and ladders.

    Candidates must reflect in their submitted USAJOBS résumés the possession of this specialized experience.  If their résumés do not include such specialized experience, they will be ineligible for this position.

    Those applicants who meet the minimum qualification requirements will be evaluated against these factors to determine the best-qualified candidates.     • Knowledge of common project management principles, tools and tasks.
    • Skill in supporting a laboratory operation.
    • Ability to participate in artwork conservation-related activities.
    • Knowledge of common records management software, assignments and processes.

    Well Qualified Category - In addition to meeting minimum qualifications, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in some, but not all of the major aspects of the position.

    Qualified Category - In addition to meeting minimum qualifications, applicants must demonstrate a basic level of knowledge, skill and ability of the position.

    Application of Veterans Preference: The Category Rating Method does not add veterans' preference points or apply the "rule of three," but protects the rights of veterans by placing them ahead of non-preference eligibles within each pre-defined quality category.
