Position Description:
Performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibrations on all assigned medical imaging equipment. Tests, repairs, calibrates, inspects and performs preventive maintenance checks on Imaging related equipment used in medical diagnosis or therapy, applying technical knowledge of electro-radiological and mechanical systems, and user knowledge of computers. With certification and training in multiple or high-end Imaging modalities, uses manuals, test equipment, measuring instruments, hand tools and power tools, and specialized knowledge to perform repairs.

Required Education and Experience:
Associates in biomedical equipment technology or military training preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience can be substituted. Formal Radiology training and/or certification(s) i.e. CBET, CRES, A+ etc. preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the operation of imaging equipment including but not limited to Radiographic, Radiographic/Fluoroscopic, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Linear Accelerator, CT and MRI
  • Repair, install maintain, calibrate, and inspect medical imaging equipment instrumentation
  • In-depth knowledge of electronic circuitry and technical aspects of the operation, repair and maintenance of electronic
  • Knowledge of networking theory
  • Knowledge of safety precautions when servicing high voltages and working with ionizing radiation
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology and medical terminology
  • Ability to analyze, repair and test electronic and electromechanical equipment
  • Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and illustrated parts drawings of biomedical instrumentation
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Good communication and strong customer service skills
  • Good Organization and time management skills
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work as a member of a team, if required
