Intelsat's Rotational Program is designed for recent graduates, like yourself, to help explore various positions across Intelsat's Technical departments.

 

As an Associate of the Rotational program, you will be placed in 3 roles among your chosen track, completed across a 24 month period. This will grant you with a fresh perspective into the broader communications industry and the day-to-day responsibilities of your selected career path.

 

We are committed to providing you with a wide range of industry exposure and the opportunity to be permanently placed in one of the departments upon successful completion of the program.

 

Intelsat's Rotational Program: Analytical Track

In the Analytical Track, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on Intelsat within a 24 month period.  Every 8 months you will explore a new department, including our Project Management, Information Technology and Network Engineering teams. This diverse foundation will provide you with professional growth, exposure to the broader communications industry, and will further develop your technical skillset. Upon successful completion of the 24 month program, you will be promoted and placed accordingly into a role that will align with and build upon your experience.

 

During your time as an Associate, you will contribute to many facets of the organization while learning about Intelsat's overall business.

 

Some opportunities include:

  • Comprehensive Orientation and inclusive training and coaching throughout the program
  • Roundtable discussions with key members of the organization
  • Attend guest speaker events to enhance business perspective
  • Deliver a presentation upon conclusion of each 8 month rotation

The following knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered for the role:

  • Bachelors of Science in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field required
  • Ability to become proficient in the use of wire framing tools (Visio, Balsamiq, Storyboarding, etc.)
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office suite, especially PowerPoint, analysis in Excel and Word.  MS Project experience a plus.
  • Course work establishing fundamental engineering knowledge required for terrestrial network analysis: basic mathematics, basic electronics, and basic mechanical and basic computer operation
  • Computer skills in the field of programming, database applications and web languages a plus
 

  • Understanding of software systems and the desire to learn practical application of system analysis methods, required
  • Course work in project management or academic experience managing team assignments as a project a plus
  • Comfortable working within a matrixed team to challenge assumptions and devise creative responses to business requirements
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent time management skills; ability to multi-task effectively and to quickly learn new concepts and systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills essential

 

Months 1-8 as an Associate Project Manager

As an Associate you will Support the Product Program Management team within the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) in contributing to large, cross-functional programs that implement new products and product platforms for Intelsat and its customers. 

 

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of project charters and kickoff meetings, providing clarity on project objectives, team structure, roles & responsibilities and deliverables
  • Coordinating and collaborating with highly matrixed teams to provide team structure and focus on achieving project objectives with quality, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Creating and enhancing product development processes, tools and reporting automation.
  • Managing coordination of product development releases and other activities across multiple product platforms. 

Months 9-16 as an Associate IT Analyst

As an Associate in the IT Analysis team you will help to produce software requirement specifications which:

  • Clearly and unambiguously describe capabilities and concepts without superfluous detail or unnecessary formality
  • Meet the needs of business and development team audiences
  • Use graphical artifacts to express complex concepts and relationships
 

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Working collaboratively with business users to transform their complex technical requirements into actionable specifications for IT developers.  
  • Using Agile development methodology and playing a role in sprint planning and working with developers to provide clarifications and issue resolutions that meet business needs.

 

Months 17-24 as an Associate Network Analyst

As an Associate, you will support the Network Architect in performing analysis of Intelsat's terrestrial network and developing a network evolution roadmap. You will partner with more senior engineers in the team to develop increased proficiency on network technologies, elements and capabilities.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Executing assigned projects that involve investigation, information gathering, data analysis, design review, documentation, execution and reporting.
  • Perform market analysis of Tier 1 ISP providers, peering partners, caching services and content providers as part of developing a long-term peering strategy and support the documentation of the network architecture designs
