This new hire will work in McCormick's US Consumer Products Division Headquarters, located in Hunt Valley, MD. The Product Manager II will report to a Manager. POSITION SUMMARY The Product Manager II will be primarily responsible for directing and coordinating strategic marketing activities for complex segments to achieve sales goals. Overall responsibility for creating and executing against an annual plan, including strategies to drive growth and profitability as well as merchandising, assortment, pricing and shelving principles. In addition, this role will lead Supply & Operations Planning including forecasting and inventory management to meet business demand. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage P&L of segment(s) and product lines, product life-cycle including SKU rationalization, new product business case development and commercial strategy and implementation. Identify and implement growth initiatives and manages product trend forecasting. Establishes product and channel pricing strategy, develop and maintain pricing and price promotion parameters and implement cost reduction opportunities. Responsible for consumer and trade promotion development and forecasting, competitive analysis, trade, customer and consumer communications. Provide strategic and tactical coordination with advertising and PR agencies, website, culinary, graphics, legal, market research, production, sales and finance. Recommends and delivers business presentations to brokers, customers or senior leadership. Exercises discretion regarding strategic recommendations, data and sources, analytic conclusions, and financial recommendations. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors Degree in Marketing, or related field required Minimum 5 years of marketing and/or sales experience Demonstrated significant and relevant skills and results in consumer packaged goods Strong project leadership experience with demonstrated success in managing multiple projects and P&L's Expertise in syndicated databases, market research, business and brand planning, advertising, finance, promotional activities and consumer communications Sound understanding of concepts, principles and practices in Marketing (functional expert) and a working knowledge of practices in other areas including Sales, Finance and Supply Chain Deep understanding of the industry sector and competitive landscape across multiple segments In-depth understanding of how own area integrates with other Marketing areas and with other functional areas such as Sales, Finance and Supply Chain Good analytical skills as well as evaluative judgment based on the analysis of factual and qualitative information in complicated or novel situations Filters, prioritizes, analyzes and validates potential complex and dynamic material Developed communication and diplomacy skills required to guide, influence, and convince others (internal and external) Strong cross-functional strategic leadership, communication and teamwork skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS MBA McCormick & Company is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
