Public Relations Manager
The Public Relations Manager creates favorable brand awareness and preference by generating thought leadership, communicating programs, accomplishments and/or points of view. The PR manager is tasked with building relationships with key media and/or associations, fielding media questions and pitching stories to the media, preparing media kits and organizing press conferences. In addition to writing press releases, the incumbent will write speeches for organizational leaders, and provide input to develop advertising and marketing communications materials supported by/with PR efforts. This individual will also release information to counter unfavorable publicity and handle crisis and emergency communications. This role will collaborate with cross functional teams to maintain a consistent brand voice and message to both internal and external audiences. Develop a public relations plan including strategy, goals, budget and tactics partnering with the global PR team Research and develop media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media for the Americas region Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media Identify key speaking opportunities for our experts Editing and writing of features, articles, whitepapers and case studies for print and web-based media Create content for press releases, by-line articles and keynote presentations Consolidate BSI information from client proposition managers and business streams and sectors to enable PR agency or 3rd party partner to efficiently produce PR materials Monitor the key trade media, including magazines, journals and blogs for opportunities Monitor, analyse and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them Establish strong working relationships with the BSI team across the Americas to identify and develop news stories for the media and stakeholder communications Hire and manage external agencies including PR, copywriters, graphic designers and others Manage and maintain all aspects of the budget including invoice payment, accruals, forecasting, expense reconciliation and audit report associated with delivery Interface with Sales, Marketing Channels, Product, Operations, Decision Management, Finance, Legal and Compliance Establish processes to ensure information is regularly updated in corporate materials and ensure these changes are clearly communicated to the wider marketing team Work in accordance with established standards and processes to ensure quality, consistency, and repeatability with respect to tactics implementation and execution Other marketing duties as may be required from time to time Domestic Travel under 10% time About You This is a great opportunity for an ambitious professional to gain visibility within the organization. We seek someone who meets all of the following criteria: BA / BS in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English or equivalent experience 5+ years of Public Relations experience 3+ years of experience in PR leadership/management roles Strong relationships with both local and national business and industry media outlets Experience in acting as a company spokesperson; comfortable and skilled in both broadcast and print media interviews Event planning experience Solid experience with social media including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
