  • Basic Requirement

    1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
    2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
    3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
    4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

    In addition to the basic requirement listed above, qualified applications must also demonstrate the following specialized experience/educational requirement:

    Specialized Experience (GG-07 Level):

    You must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GG/GS-05 grade level or equivalent pay grade in the federal service or in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties:

    1) Assisting senior specialist in supporting IT systems and services to include installation, operation, and maintenance of automated communication systems and other desktop technologies.
    2) Assisting in the acquisition of systems housed on mainframe, minicomputer and microcomputer platforms.
    3) Assisting in detecting and diagnosing IT system hardware and software faults and malfunctions, and supporting efforts necessary to correct the problems.
    4) Interacting with senior specialists, contractors, and vendors to detect, diagnose and correct computer system software and hardware problems.

    OR

    A Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

    OR

    Have successfully completed one full year of graduate education in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of business systems.

    Specialized Experience (GG-09 Level):

    You must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GG/GS-07 grade level or equivalent pay grade in the federal service or in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties:

    1) Participating with higher grade specialist in carrying out assignments utilizing IT systems and services to include installation, operation, and maintenance of automated communications systems and other desktop technologies.
    2) Checking for interoperability and integration of IT programs and services, and assisting in developing solutions to these issues.
    3) Supporting the development, testing, and implementation of systems and networks.
    4) Establishing and maintaining liaison with personnel in assigned and related fields, intelligence agencies, and contractor facilities to discuss mutual IT technologies, processing problems and production efforts.

    OR

    Have successfully completed two full years of graduate education, or possess a Master's Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of business systems.

    • 2 full years of graduate education, or possess a Master's Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of business systems. (GG-09 Level).
    Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

    This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
