Information Security Systems Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Assess and leverage knowledge of industry best practices, benchmark data, and published security standards to support security engineering and architecture of IT initiatives. Evaluate service provider IT projects for system security requirements and evaluate service provider IT system security plans. Review body of evidence in support of the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM). Support governance forums and agency-sponsored working groups, chartered to research information assurance-related risks and mitigation strategies. Enhance the risk executive function with awareness, governance, and an increased safeguarding posture. Analyze and respond to Cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks and support continuous monitoring and ongoing authorizations of IT infrastructure services programs and projects. Develop and execute test cases to validate security functionality of operating systems, distributed applications, and tools. This position is located in Vienna, VA until November 2016 and then will move to Bethesda, MD.


Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with working in the intelligence community

-Ability to be a team player and work in a collaborative environment

-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

-BA or BS degree in Engineering or IT and 10+ years of experience with developing, implementing, integrating, maintaining, and evaluating security engineering and security architecture for IT enterprise architectures or MA or MS degree in Engineering or IT and 8+ years of experience with developing, implementing, integrating, maintaining, and evaluating security engineering and security architecture for IT enterprise architectures

-Certified Information Security Specialist Professional (CISSP) or GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC) Certification


Additional Qualifications:

-1+ years of experience with IT Systems Security Risk Management, Certification and Accreditation, ICD 503, and DCID 6/3 preferred

-BA or BS degree in Computer Engineering, CS, EE, or Information Systems preferred


Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
