Position: Research Assistant
Organization: Embassy of the Republic of Singapore, Washington D.C
One of the principal roles of the Singapore Embassy in Washington D.C. is to promote Singapore-United States relations, and explore opportunities for both sides to expand cooperation. We also strive to promote Singapore in the United States.
As Research Assistant, you will support the work of the Embassy’s political team, including research on key developments and issues of relevance both in Washington and states where Singapore has widening interests. You will be tracking news events as well as attending seminars and conferences to keep abreast on the latest discussions on issues of interest and provide summaries as necessary. You will assist the Ambassador and senior Embassy staff with background work for speeches and other public diplomacy events. In addition, you will assist the team to plan and help organise Embassy events, and provide logistical support for visits by Singapore dignitaries and officials. There will be opportunities to interact with senior political figures from Singapore and the United States.
This position requires candidates to have an interest in politics and international affairs, with excellent written and spoken English. You will need to multi-task, have a keen attention to detail and be a good team player capable of working independently. This position will also require you to exhibit flexibility and the ability to meet deadlines consistently. Bachelor’s degree required.
