The kitchen areas of Prepared Foods including Sushi, Asian Cuisine and packaged food production. Employees work hands on with the finest ingredients to produce the core recipes our customers have come to know and love. Because of the skills and passion of our culinary professionals, we are able to make great meals easy for our customers; offering meal solutions and suggestions for completing their menus. Positions include: Lead Cook, Line Cook, Prep CookThe Hospitality employees provide incredible customer service by working to promote and sell items within all restaurant areas. Working hands-on in the kitchen with our Executive Chefs and Restaurant Managers, you will strengthen your culinary and hospitality skills and on-the-job mentoring in order to provide you with an opportunity to grow with us.Work Environment: * Work involves continuous interaction with customers and co-workers in a fast-paced environment * Typical motions include repetitive hand and arm movements, bending and reaching * Responsible for moving and lifting an average of 5 - 20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 50 pounds rarely * May be exposed to various allergens and work environments, including temperature changes * Tasks will be performed using and in the proximity of coolers, ovens, stoves and other hot equipment; cooking and kitchen utensils and equipment * Will be required to spend the majority of time on his or her feet and stand or walk without a break for up to 4 hours Other: * Full-time applicants should generally offer an open availability Sunday through Saturday, between the primary operating hours of 6am-11pm. Full-time employees work a minimum of 40 hours/week, in 8 hour intervals and typically work evenings/weekends to meet business needs. * Part-time employees may work up to 30 hours/week, with shifts up to 8 hours at a time based on the department needs. Weekly hours and specific shifts are not guaranteed and we do not offer set schedules. The most successful applicants offer an availability spanning several hours at a time, on multiple days/week. Specific days/hours of work vary by position and will generally include weekends. * Employment at Wegmans may be contingent upon your completion and our evaluation of a drug screen and/or criminal background check.
