English Composition Term Assistant Professor
The George Mason University Department of English seeks applicants for a full-time one-year renewable position (Term Assistant Professor or Term Instructor) to begin in the fall 2018 semester. Responsibilities: Primary responsibility will be to teach first-year composition and/or advanced composition (separate sections of advanced compositions offered for business, humanities, social science, science/technology majors, and a multidisciplinary version). Schedule may include classes that begin as early as 7:30 a.m. or as late as 7:20 p.m.
This position requires presence on the Fairfax Campus; it cannot be carried out remotely.
Qualifications: MA in English or Rhetoric and Composition required; PhD in these fields or MFA in creative writing preferred.
Graduate coursework in pedagogy and training and experience in online writing experience strongly preferred.
Benefits included. Four courses per semester.
