The Senior Strategic Acquisition Advisor, (SSAA) is responsible for direct support to the Deputy Program Manager for NASA's Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) Government Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). Duties include; meeting with federal agency acquisition leadership proving guidance on acquisition process options. Conduct briefings and trainings delivered throughout the United States. Provide overall expert assistance with planning, coordination and delivery of the Federal Agency Strategic Solutions Team's (FASST) activities. To be successful in this position the FASST SSAA must possess the ability to assess typical contracting mechanisms and propose innovative contracting approaches to both internal and external customers. The SSAA will also serve as a high level mentor for those actions that require escalation and are forwarded for action. In addition to typical contract/delivery order awards the SSAA will possess knowledge of both pre-award and post-award acquisition functions involving highly complex, visible and specialized processes. The SSAA must be able to provide advanced acquisition planning; develop procurement objectives for the given program that encompasses various procurement and program goals while incorporating the mission and vision of the program itself for outside customers as part of the FASST Team is required. The SSAA will offer excellent platform skills proving support for both FASST Briefings and Speaking engagements.Applicant must possess a strong understanding of the federal acquisition process. This includes knowledge of IDIQ's, GWAC's, BPA's etc. The successful applicant will be able to clearly articulate that knowledge with confidence and clarity. Optimally the successful applicant offers; one year of specialized experience equivalent to a Federal Government GS-1102 Grade 14, in addition to at least 10+ years of experience in contracting or related positions which has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.Related Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:A 4-year course of study resulting in a bachelor's degree with a major in any field that includes or is supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: business, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, management, or marketing.10+ years of progressive acquisition experience in areas of contracting, policy, business advisorPrevious Federal Government experience preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations to program management, stakeholders, and customersAbility to expand relationships and business opportunitiesSelf-starter with strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skillsAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic work environmentSound business acumenStrong organizational skillsResults oriented, proactive and reactiveHigh energy level, enthusiasmThis position requires between 25-75% domestic and international travelAbility to work outside of regular business hours, as neededTOP SECRET CLEARANCE NEEDED
