LMI, a not-for-profit government consulting firm dedicated to advancing the management of the government, is looking for a DoD SMART Scholarship Program Communications Specialist to join the Strategy and Operations Group.The DoD SMART Scholarship Program Communications Specialist supports the SMART progam outreach and promotions initiatives by contributing to the planning, development, and implementation of marketing and advertising strategies and communications activities. On a daily basis, we help university representatives, students, and partners learn about SMART, with the aim increasing applications, through the development, implementation and refinement of marketing and outreach methods. We are looking for someone who is as passionate about our work as we are and has the skills and attitude to be successful. Responsibilities Reports directly to the SMART Program Outreach and Promotions Lead. Responsible for creating thoughtful and engaging content to promote SMART across multiple channels to include the SMART website, social media, events (in-person and virtual), articles, press releases, e-mail campaigns, and advertisements.Key Responsibilities:Working with the SMART team to propose, develop, and implement marketing and advertising campaigns across broadcast, print, online, social media, events, etc.Managing social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn), including sharing informative and interesting content and engaging with our communitiesDeveloping webinars and other virtual eventsCreating and managing e-mail campaigns (MailChimp)Contributing to the development of promotional products and materials, including print, digital, and special projects, such as the event booth and website redesignCreating compelling content, messaging, and storiesPlanning and executing the SMART Ambassador program Managing SMART Scholar spotlights for the website, social media, events, and articlesManaging the review and approval process for marketing materials, including working with various stakeholdersPreparing monthly reports on activities and results of marketing and advertising initiativesParticipating in outreach events, such as exhibiting at conferences and staffing information sessions Qualifications Required:Bachelor's degreeExperience in administrative, academic, customer service, marketing or related field Excellent written and verbal communicationExcellent customer service skillsAbility to maintain a professional demeanor at all timesAbility to work well within a team environment and independentlyEnjoys working in a dynamic and fast-paced environmentStrong organization and time management skillsMust be a citizen of the United States of AmericaMinimum 18 years of ageAbility to speak, read, and write fluent EnglishAbility to obtain and maintain a security clearance from the DoDAbility to travel approximately 25%Preferred:Federal and/or Department of Defense experienceExperience working in academic environment
