Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading international law firms with almost 4000 lawyers and staff in 30 offices is seeking a paralegal in the Firm's Energy Practice Group, reporting to the Director of Paralegal Services. This position will reside in the Washington DC office and will be responsible for producing consistently high quality, accurate, and timely individual work and coordinated results that meet or exceed the Firm's quality standards. Responsibilities: * Creating document management process and coordinating the management of such documents for large complex litigation cases * Coordinating filings, information distribution and action items directly with Federal and State agencies, and their contractors and employees on behalf of the Firm and client * Coordinating and establishing electronic document management systems at the Firm necessary to satisfy government agency's regulatory requirements for document classification, retention and submission * Coordinating and managing filings with government agencies during anticipated litigation * Supporting administrative hearings and related advance preparation * Assisting practice group with regulatory research and filings (eg, with government agencies such as DOE, FERC, NRC) * Using strong factual and legal research and writing skills, engages in analysis of factual and legal issues, presenting information in thorough and concise written and/or demonstrative formats * Producing consistently high quality, accurate, and timely individual work and assures coordinated results that meet or exceed the Firm's quality standards * Developing systems for tracking and accessing matter related information * Preparing documentation requiring a high degree of industry knowledge and sophistication * Responding to emerging situations and to provide project infrastructure advice to firm partnership and client * Professionally interacting with senior members of the firm and government Experience/Qualifications: * A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; * A minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience, preferably in the energy sector; * Experience with government agencies including but not limited to FERC, DOE and/or NRC preferred; * Knowledge of regulatory public access databases and e-filing systems, such as NRC, DOE and/or FERC; * Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform a variety of complex legal work under minimal supervision of an attorney; * The ability to handle the multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced and highly-collaborative team environment; * Proficiency with MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel is required; * Proficiency using legal research platforms, including, but not limited to, Westlaw, Lexis, and Checkpoint; * Excellent oral and written communication skills.Qualified candidates must apply online by visiting our website at www.morganlewis.com and selecting "Careers."
