We work in conjunction with all MLA practice groups to align the unique needs of our clients and candidates with our value-added services. Our Directors work closely with Managing Directors to deliver world-class recruiting, staffing, and managed solutions services to our clients. Responsibilities include: Developing a strong understanding of the legal market with a particular emphasis on practice areas; business concerns affecting the management and efficiencies of law firms and corporate legal departments; the intersection between the legal and recruiting/search industries; and the strategic utilization of interim resources within these organizations. Working with Managing Directors and Sr. Directors to identify market trends, service clients, recruit target skill sets, work within key market segments, and assess clients' staffing requirements. Developing recruiting strategies designed to identify qualified candidates through various recruiting tools. Evaluating candidates' strengths compared with clients' requirements by screening and interviewing the candidate. Providing accurate and thorough documentation of candidate interactions in applicant tracking systems. Drafting candidate summaries and/or presentations highlighting strengths and relevant work experience for client consideration. Negotiating wage rates and other terms and conditions of employment with candidates, and gaining commitment from candidates for current and future job requirements. Completing necessary pre-employment processes including reference checks and background/drug tests in compliance with EEOC and other government standards. Developing and managing contract employee relationships, post-placement; including assessing and investigating contractor related problems and administering performance counseling, coaching, and disciplinary measures when necessary. Communicating with peers by sharing recruiting "best practices." Participating in relevant legal and business organizations with the goal of maintaining relationships with industry contacts. Providing Managing Directors with referrals and market knowledge gained from interactions with an ever-expanding network of legal professionals. Managing a demanding schedule including responding to urgent client needs in a timely manner. Successful candidates will possess the following requirements: Bachelor's degree is required. JD or Paralegal Certificate is strongly preferred. 2+ years' post-graduate professional experience. Prior legal and/or professional services industry experience will be viewed favorably. Exceptional written and oral English communication skills as well as strong interpersonal and presentation skills. A desire to proactively engage in developing new relationships with prospective candidates and a comfort with phone and in-person communication; often via cold calling and cold introduction based efforts. A collaborative, collegial and empathetic approach to internal and external relationships. A self-motivated, enthusiastic individual with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. Good judgment and the ability to exercise discretion to accomplish goals and work requirements. Experience using MS Word and MS Outlook (or similar email application). Authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
